We are glad to welcome you in Spartacus Sailing Club at Balatonföldvár, host of the Star 17th District Championship and Star Eastern Hemisphere Championship in May/June 2026. Please find some useful information to make your stay as pleasant as possible.

The 2024 Star Eastern Hemisphere Championship has crowed its winners, Marin Misura and Tonko Barac are back in Croatia with another Silver Star, after claiming their first one last year at the 2023 Eastern European Championship in Warnemunde, Germany.
“We were here, in the North of Europe from the warm coast of Croatia also last year, and after winning we promised we would never come back into this cold and tough weather, but as you can see, we couldn’t restist, and we are glad we did, as it was a very nice Championship”, commented Tonko Barac at the prize giving ceremony at the Eckernförde Yacht Club.

The Heinz Nixdorf Verein (HNV) is happy to subsidize a waiver of the late entry fee for the upcoming EHC.Despite hesitant entries and the threat of the event being canceled, 28 top teams already registered for the Eastern Hemisphere Championship in Eckernförde.Calling upon starboat teams especially from the south of Europe for which the trip to North-Germany is already a hefty invest in fuel, the HNV hopes to raise the interest in the Baltic-Sea Double header comprising of the EHC from the 2nd to the 6th of July and the International German Championship in Travemünde two weeks later.Entry for the EHC remains open at: https://ehc.starchampionships.org/entry/optionsand for those interested in the International German Championship the entry is possible via Manage2Sail: https://www.manage2sail.com/de-DE/event/a0456f76-ddfd-493d-8f95-3a9243cf1faf#!/entries?classId=abaf854d-0da2-4c26-8e7b-405fa5eae327This note changes the NOR 4.4 (deleted) 5.2 (replaced with: 5.2 Junior (U30 both helm and crew) entry fee is USD 150.) and 5.4 (deleted). The Organizing Authority for the Eastern Hemisphere Championship is pleased to announce that the International Governing Committee of the ISCYRA has granted test event status to try a change to STCR 31.1.4 - comonly know as "no outside assistance" - where it will be trialed. The change in the rule has been outlined in the NOR Section 14.9 and will allow coaching under the specified conditions during the event. With this test the OA believes to have found an appropriate way to allow Star sailors to benefit from the availability of a coach on the race course without making it another arms race.
Coaches will be required to be available for a group of sailors, will need to provide additional support to sailors not originally affiliated with the group and help with towing and other security emasures as mandated by the Race Committee.
Entry for coaches is open at this link
Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions regarding the test event status to either Helge Spehr or Arnd Glunde

The Kieler Fleet (KF) with support from the Lübecker Fleet and the HNV Star Academy is offering to assist with Logistics for the two main events in North of Germany during the 2024 season. You might have noticed that the Eastern Hemisphere Championship (in Eckernförde from the 2nd to 6th of July) and the International German Championship (in Travemünde from the 24th to the 27th of July) are held very close to each other.

It was all decided in today’s final race for the best five teams fighting to conquer the Silver Star. One race in great conditions with 8-10 knots from the North, that was won by the junior German team Jan Borbet and Jesper Spehr, followed by Giovanni Coppo and two-time World Champion crew Frithjof Kleen (ITA/GER) in second and finishing in third Ard van Aanholt and Steyn van Driessel (NED), all of them out of the final rush for the title.
